First Communion

First Communion is the practice of celebrating children who learn and practice our faith at the Table. While Lutherans have many views on when children are ready to receive communion, many Lutherans have deep family traditions of keeping the practice of First Communion.  This is a time of formation when children (Grades 3rd-5th) learn about the Theology of Communion and what it means for them.  Then as a community we honor their dedication and study in a service where they receive their first communion as a group.
